Training regimes can get a little repetitive and monotonous without change. With circuit training you can combine both cardio-vascular exercise with muscle strength workouts to give the same benefit as a 1-2-1 workout, but with a distinct change from the norm.

Our circuits are a collection of 'stations' (or exercises) aimed at working targeted areas of the body - the upper body, the lower body, the torso and the aerobic system. Each station has three different intensities - Beginner, intermediate and advanced to make sure that everyone is catered for. Below is an illustration of a typical circuits session.

Specifics of a circuit session:
  • 12, 16, or 20 stations (depending on number of attendees)
  • 3 intensities per station.
  • 1 minute work period*
  • 30-45 second recovery period*
* Work / Rest periods are defined by the overall ability of the class. In some cases if there is a clear split in ability then two sessions are devised to provide both moderate and advanced intensities.

A-Firmative hold circuit training sessions regularly for the general public so if you feel like burning some calories then click here to see venue details. However, if you already use an A-Firmative Health personal trainer and would like to incorporate circuit training in to your routine, then simply request it and we would be more than happy to oblige.
